Hybrid planning application

Lathams was commissioned as part of a multi-disciplinary team including planning, property and technical advisors to provide urban design, housing design, landscape and heritage inputs into the feasibility, design development and outline planning aspects of the project. 

The client for the scheme, are owners of this surplus site and are seeking to dispose of it at best value. Lathams undertook a heritage assessment of the existing building located within the site in order to establish the extent of potential demolitions and retention. 

The sensitive nature of the site led the planning authority to request Lathams to produce a design code to support an outline/hybrid application.

Preferred development options were tested with the planning authority, the community and against known market requirements to establish the optimum development format.
