Reversing the Radburn approach

  • Project: Stonebridge Park Estate
  • Client: LHA-ASRA and Nottingham City Council
  • Contractor: Lovells
  • Scale: Over 350 new and refurbished homes

Lathams developed an innovative masterplan for the regeneration of Stonebridge Park, in Nottingham. The estate was built in line with Radburn planning principles in the early 1970s - houses were ‘inverted’, with car access via back gardens.

Following in-depth analysis, including door-to-door consultation with residents, proposals were developed around local and regional planning policy, best practice and experience gained from comparable projects.

A comprehensive masterplan captured the aspirations of the residents, helping to ensure that Stonebridge Park has a truly sustainable future. Stonebridge Park achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.
