Lathams’ long term commitment to contextual design, creative reuse and the regeneration of buildings, land and communities has evolved into a sustainable approach to all of our work.

It is a commitment that relates not just to the buildings we create and remodel, the spaces around them and the way that those spaces work as part of communities, but also to the way we go about our own business.

We aim to design buildings with low energy requirements and which result in minimum harm to the environment. We do this through the careful monitoring of the sustainable design process, and by the appointment of consultants and partners who subscribe to this policy.

Our long-term focus on creative reuse, contextual design and the regeneration of buildings, land and communities means that wherever appropriate, existing fabric is remodeled, reworked and made fit again for a certain future.

The way we carry out our work is covered by our Environmental Management System (EMS), which is certified to ISO14001 and shared, understood and supported by our whole team. It includes not just a commitment to control the environmental impact of design and to uphold all relevant environmental laws, codes of practice and international protocols, but also to strive for continual improvement in our environmental performance at all levels.
